Acupuncture uses tiny, sterile, disposable needles which are gently inserted into various points on the body (acupoints) to balance the body's Qi (energy) in order to promote healing.
Every patient responds differently to acupuncture. Some may feel immediate relief, others delayed relief, and for some, relief may require more than one treatment. Generally speaking, the effects of acupuncture are accumulative. Each treatment successively enhances the prior. Typically a significant change is obvious within 5-8 sessions and a acupuncture course is considered 8-12 sessions.
